What should I include in my tabloid?
What should I include in my journal/ diary entry?
What should I include in my journal/ diary entry?
- Have you stated the main idea in a way that makes it obvious?
- Can your reader/ teacher clearly identify the topic of your entry?
- Have you supported your main idea with evidence/quotes from the text?
- You must believe in your main idea so that your reader can believe in it too?
- Reveal your character's personality through the writing.
- Use your character's voice. Eg. Hero will be innocent, positive, always expecting the best from those around her, very polite in the way she speaks etc. Beatrice, will have short witty sentences, bold statements, strong opinions etc.
GROUP ACTIVITY - TABLEAUX
Look through the act you have been given.
Identify the most important scenes and key moments.
Discuss which characters are involved in these.
Now think about how you will represent each character. [You could each make up a gesture to represent that character or each bring in a prop or item of clothing]
For each of the key moments, make up a tableaux [or freeze frame] to represent what you think is important about that moment.
You will also make a tableaux with everyone representing each character one at at time. [Eg- in one frame, everyone represents Benedick in a different way]
Get someone to take the necessary photos.
Then you will write a short explanation as as caption for each picture.
We will share these with the class in powerpoint format on Wednesday.
