Mid Term Break Work:
Y7- Copy this question into your notebook. Then answer it. Remember to follow the PEE structure.
"Pick a passage from “Little Ellis and the Boil” (one or two lines) that you think is extremely well written. You don't have to write out the whole passage, just the page number(s) and beginning and end phrases. Write a paragraph explaining what makes this passage good writing."
- Prepare your draft for the Creative Writing Assessment which you will complete in class.
Y8 - Read a short story which is either "gothic or horror" genre and try to identify the elements which make it belong to that genre.

Y7 - Type up and print out an information sheet about your new product. You must include: its name, what ingredients are needed and instructions on how it is made. You can also mention where the ingredients come from and how they are transported [eg: secretly trained dogs who collect all the brown pastel crayons in the city and bring them to the factory at midnight everyday]
Y8 - Research and prepare all the background information you need to write your article next week. Rubric here.

Make an A5 [half A4] size poster of your favourite Roald Dahl book or character and include one quote which tells us about it [the book or character]. This may be hand drawn and coloured or printed out. [To print in A5 size, first create your poster in A4 size. Then go to 'layout' in your printer settings and select ''2 pages'' to be printed on one page]
Bring your book 'Boy' by Roald Dahl to school on 11/9 or by Monday as we will need it.
